About the Role
Join us in transforming lives while managing the daily operations of the GEM unit. As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will:
Lead and work with a collaborative, supportive, and highly functioning interdisciplinary team.
Lead and develop exceptional clinical nursing practices.
Provide exceptional holistic care to older persons, with a strong focus on supporting the patient throughout their journey.
About You

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurse with a background in sub-acute or acute care. Your unwavering commitment to a person-centred approach to care will empower patients to achieve their health goals and enhance their overall well-being. Demonstrating collaborative leadership, a positive work attitude, and excellence in practice, you will thrive on the unique and varied needs of our patient cohort, striving to provide the highest standard of care.
Qualifications and Commitment
In addition to your experience, you will have:
Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA.
A passion and dedication to providing exceptional care to older persons.
Demonstrated ability to lead, collaborate, and engage with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
Previous management or leadership /NUM/ ANUM experience.

About the Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) Unit
The GEM Unit offers specialised care of older people, with a focus on comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment and management of medical, physical, psychological, and social issues associated with the ageing process.
Our 20-bed unit is located at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) in the Bolte Wing. Our nursing team is pivotal to the success of the broader, high-performing interdisciplinary team, achieving ambitious outcomes while supporting the flow of patients throughout the broader organisation.
